Superphosphate is created by treating rock phosphate with phosphoric acid. The resultant superphosphate has much more phosphate available (soluble). Phosphate is especially needed by seedlings for root formation, but is of lowered availability in a cool growing media. MOFGA believes that excess solubility of phosphate from superphosphate can be a problem.
