Orono Farmers' Market
Market Members who offer a CSA

A CSA is a subscription plan whereby a shopper pays for their food ahead of time and then often receives a bonus in the amount of food they get for their payment. In addition the shopper helps the farmer with their annual tight springtime cash flow.

Various types of CSA plans are offered by the market members listed below; contact them directly for more information. Of course all of these members also sell their products in the usual way.

There are two basic types of CSA to choose from, and each of these farms offers one or the other type:

  • A Debit type CSA is one where your CSA subscription buys you a credit at that farm and during the season you shop against that credit, similar to using a debit card.

  • A Box of Food type CSA is one where the farmers puts up a box of food for you each week during a defined season.
