At Orono Farmers' Market in 2007

The signs we use at market are usually home-made and list our business name and the items we sell. Some growers combine everything into one sign while others have an array of signs all around and in front of their stands. A few have even been professionally produced. As you view each sign, it may be helpful to note how they are supported (hung up, propped up, painted on, etc.), and whether the appearance is clear, legible and inviting or messy, hard to read, and look thrown-together. Also consider whether the signs are relativley permanent or need to be re-created for every market day.
Usually we are standing behind our own signs and don't get to see them as our customers do; yet our signs often create a shopper's first impression of our stand and our farm. This is how our signs looked on three days in mid June, late July, and early September, 2007. Alphabetically listed.
