What we offer
What can you buy through the Pittsfield Buying Club? The Club buys from local farmers, cheesemakeers and bakers often at wholesale prices not otherwise available to the individual shopper. Plus, the Club offers a wide variety of Maine grown items from literally all over the state. Some of the types of items found on our monthly list include:
- In-season local, organic and/or Maine grown fresh produce
Spinach, leeks, celery, carrots, onions, potatoes, lettuce, parsnips, melons, etc.
- In-season local fruits
Apples, cider, blueberries, cranberries, pears, strawberries, etc.
- Artisan breads
- Meats
Chicken, beef, lamb, goat, turkey, pork (sausage, hot dogs, bacon, hams, etc.), fresh and frozen meats.
- Dairy
Cow's milk, goat's milk, gouda, cheddar, jack, swiss, and feta mozzarella cheeses, cream cheeses, cheese spreads, eggs, butter, yogurt, etc.
- Condiments and herbs
Sea salt, oregano, basil, sage,
- Fermented foods
Tempeh, kim chi, sourkraut, pickles, pickled fiddleheads, etc.
- Frozen Foods
Blueberries, strawberries, cranberries
- Processed veggies
Cole slaw, carrot sticks, diced rutabaga, parsnip and turnip, veggie fries, etc.
- Grain products
rye flour, cornmeal, whole wheat and flour, spelt flour, rolled oats, pastry flour, granola, baking, pancake and ployes mixes, etc.
- Seafood
