How to go about supplying the Pittsfield Buying Club.

The Pittsfield Buying Club (PBC) provides shoppers with a monthly list of Maine grown and produced items from the Crown of Maine Organic Co-op along with items from several local producers. Locally produced items are shown at the top of the list and the producer is identified for each item offered. You do not have to be a buying member of the PBC to sell us items you produce.

Almost everything we do—except for the actual handling of food—is done online. To use the club, members log in to pittsfield.buyingclubsoftware.org to order any time from the first Friday of the month through the following Monday. This is called the “buying window”.

For each month's order, we need to have you update the online spreadsheet (a Google Doc) by the Wednesday before the buying window opens. Holly sends out a link you can access online about a week in advance. You will need to include your item names, descriptions, case sizes, and prices (more instructions can be found on the document itself). On the Thursday after the buying window closes (that is, one week after the buying window opens), we will email you the list of items ordered from you. You will have one week to get your order together and deliver it to the PBC.

You need to bring the items ordered from you to the specified drop-off/pick-up location (either Holly Zadra's house or the Pittsfield Universalist Church) by mid-day on the third Thursday of the month. The church is across from Dysarts in downtown Pittsfield by the stop lights; access is via the parking lot on Easy Street. Delivery is through the front door. You have exactly one week from the time you receive your order until you deliver it. PBC will pay you with a check either upon delivery or within two weeks via USPS. Please include an invoice with your delivery!

PBC shoppers will pick-up their purchases that evening.
